About WhereGoldForms
WhereGoldForms is an independent site about gold geology and gold prospecting. It explains how gold deposits form, where gold tends to collect and how hobby prospectors find and identify it, in language that does not need a geology degree.
Why this site exists
Most information about gold sits at two extremes. Academic papers are accurate but hard to read, while many prospecting videos and forum posts mix good advice with myths. We try to sit in the middle: real geology, explained plainly, turned into practical tips you can use in the field.
How our guides are written
- Sources first. Geological facts are checked against geological survey publications, university material and peer-reviewed research. Where experts disagree, we say so.
- Practical and honest. We do not promise easy riches. Most recreational prospecting produces small amounts of gold, and our guides say that clearly.
- Kept up to date. Every guide shows the date it was last updated. When rules, equipment or knowledge change, we revise the page.
- Legal awareness. Prospecting rules differ from country to country. We always remind readers to check land ownership and local laws before digging.
Two languages
The site is published in English and Turkish. The Turkish pages are adapted for readers in Türkiye rather than translated word for word, and they include notes on the legal situation there.
